Oud perfume – the seductive scent from the Far East

Oud fragrances – the traditional Arabian scent

While oud is still somewhat of a trend fragrance for us, in Arab countries, it has been used for more than 2000 years. Oud is particularly difficult to source, which is why it is one of the most expensive scents in the world. It is derived from the wood of the Aquilaria tree. When the tree is damaged and the damaged section is infected by a certain mould, it produces the special resin that is the source of oud.

Oud has long since been part of tradition in Saudi Arabia: It is given as a gift for weddings and engagements, oud wood is burnt to create the indescribable fragrance in homes and small pieces of oud wood are a popular souvenir for Muslim pilgrims.
