The balm consists largely of sweet almond oil, which is rich in linoleic acid. This valuable fatty acid has proven its worth in skin care as it penetrates into the deep layers of the epidermis and keeps it supple. Almond oil is also effective against skin irritation and offers light UV protection, making Lip Care HYDRA OIL CORE BALM from Essence ideal for year-round care.

in the lip care are shea butter, safflower oil and jojoba oil. Shea butter is very rich, which is why it is used in skincare for sensitive skin types. The skin on the lips is particularly thin and in need of protection, so it benefits significantly from the moisturising effect of shea butter. Safflower oil also contains a high proportion of linoleic acid, while jojoba oil provides vitamins E and B6 as well as provitamin A. These protect the lips from free radicals that can damage the skin cells.
